Our Programs

Ssamba Foundation is a community-based development organization that assists the most vulnerable sections of the community by mobilizing resources and skills that empower them. Since 2006, the Ssamba Foundation has been dedicated to play its duty in helping others and creating sustainable development in vulnerable rural communities of Uganda.

Ssamba Foundation aims at positively impacting the society, through different intervention that mitigates and provide relief to societal challenges spread in different sector such as Education, Water, Agriculture, Healthcare, Social and Economical. The Founder and Executive Chairman, Hon. Isaac Ssamba is a renowned philanthropist in Uganda who has been involved in countless initiatives aimed at empowering vulnerable people and communities.

Ssamba Foundation runs a number of community development programs in rural areas of Uganda focusing on long term community-led solutions to challenges caused by extreme poverty and poor education. Ssamba Foundation seeks to aid in the development of self-sufficient, locally run projects which effectively address the most pressing needs of disadvantaged communities.

Ssamba Foundation collaborates with local, national and international partners in order to bring about sustainable improvements of life in Mukono District of Uganda in which it works. Ssamba Foundation aims to improve the living conditions for the rural poor regardless of their faith, origin or gender with an emphasis on children, youth and women.

Poverty degrades the societal status of the people, gives birth to many social problems, and puts the poor people in a disadvantaged position. Together with the communities we serve we have identified key areas where change needs to have a positive impact if poverty is to become a challenge of the past.

Ssamba Foundation aims to improve the living conditions for the rural poor regardless of their faith, origin or gender with an emphasis on children, youth and women. We envision a future in which Uganda has realized its vast human and resource potential and, through training, investment, and partnerships.

Our Area of Operations:

We are operating in Kyampisi sub-county in Mukono district, about 35Kms from Kampala city, the capital of Uganda. Kyampisi is a typical rural area with about 60,000 people, whose social-economic conditions are very poor. 97% of the residents are subsistence farmers who mainly grow food crops for home consumption.

The result of the above is a very poor economic base with more than 90% of the families living under the poverty line. The main source of income for people is farming, whose produce price has drastically fallen.

Our priority program is Water, Education, Environment, Social-Economic and Health. We are mobilizing the community to put up a community resource Centre, which will be rendering general social services to the community.
