We are a Ugandan family from the district of Mukono, east of Kampala city, the capital of Uganda. The home primarily hosts volunteers working with our organization, but other travelers and tourists are also very welcome to stay. For volunteers, it is a place to relax after the intense experiences of the day, a place to chat, to rest, watch TV or go for a walk around the neighborhood.
Volunteers staying at our home are assigned a bed based on capacity, arrival time and length of stay. If all beds are occupied when you arrive, there are several other options available within the immediate vicinity. We are always happy to help you to find adequate accommodation upon arrival.
We offer half-dorm-style shared room and private double-bed rooms and maximum number of occupants is 3 for shared room. Rooms are cleaned regularly unless otherwise requested. Each room has a working table, sockets and seats. The cost is $7 USD per person per day, breakfast is included (shared bedroom) and USD$9 per person including breakfast (private room).
Please note: that for volunteers, its free to stay with us up-to-4 weeks, thereafter the rate costs $77 USD per person per week and it also includes breakfast, lunch and dinner. (In exchange for your volunteer commitment we provide: accommodation, 3 meals and ground support up to 4 weeks’ duration).
All beds have good mosquito nets and you don’t need to bring your own bed-sheets etc. All income from this facility is used to support the projects at Ssamba Foundation.
