The social and economic empowerment program was established to empower young people and women to contribute meaningfully to the socio-economic and sustainable development of their communities. The program supports youth through skills training and internship modules to transit from a situation of unemployment to that of employment.
The program also empower women with micro-finance, business management skills and financial literacy skills. The idea is simple yet empowering. We deliver literacy and numeracy training on top of life skills programs. Ssamba Foundation program has a beneficiaries capacity of 650.
The idea behind this project is that the members will borrow a certain portion of the money to start businesses or boost their families’ income. Once the business is underway, members will be expected to pay back the amount they initially borrowed. The money borrowed will then be reinvested in another member wishing to start a new business.
