Volunteer Program Contributions

Volunteering in Uganda with Ssamba Foundation is FREE, as it should be! No Program Fees! No weekly fees! At Ssamba Foundation, we appreciate and allow you to use your compassion to help make the world a better! Although you are responsible for your flight, visas and living costs, there is no program or weekly fees to get involved.

PLACEMENT CONFIRMATION DONATION/REGISTRATION FEE

Once you decide to get involved with the Ssamba Foundation as a volunteer/intern, you are required to make mandatory ONCE-OFF placement booking and confirmation donation of USD$ 250 to the organization’s general fund to secure your placement on the program. The fee covers administration related costs.

We won’t charge you any other fees apart from this mandatory donation to confirm your placement. Any donations which you wish to make while in Uganda will be put back to the projects you choose to support. We do ask for the booking donation of USD$250 to be paid in advance to prevent the staff and community in general being disappointed.

WHY DO WE ASK FOR THE CONTRIBUTION/DONATION

Since we started, the number of participants applying has increased each year. Unfortunately, only a third of those who promise that they will come, have in fact arrived. The wastage in volunteer coordinators’ time and the fact that volunteers who could have come were refused due to holding the space for someone else who didn’t turn up, forced us to implement this. We hope that by implementing the commitment donation, only serious volunteers will thus secure the chance to volunteer in our projects.

CHILDREN BELOW 18 YEARS

Children below 18 years traveling with parents or guardians, pay/contribute USD$150 to participate in the program.
