Free Volunteer Abroad Programs for Retirees

Are you looking for free volunteer abroad programs for retirees? Ssamba Foundation in Uganda has got you covered! There are so many reasons seniors and retirees should embark on volunteer trips abroad – and Ssamba Foundation offers specialty trips for travelers who have retired from active service.

Your experience and knowledge can be incredibly valuable to share with a community organization that’s striving to make a difference for people in need, and by joining our free volunteer abroad programs for retirees, you can make a direct impact while also learning about a new culture and enjoying free time to explore Uganda.

From teaching English or life skills to underprivileged girls and women in rural Mukono, to providing administration and fundraising support to an organization that supports disadvantaged communities and so much more, there is no shortage of ways you can combine volunteering with your vacation.

The Ssamba Foundation’s free volunteer abroad programs for retirees are not about all work and no play, Ssamba Foundation provides side trips and activities that allow you to explore a new culture, learn the history of the country and meet local professionals and artisans.

You can take cooking classes and dancing lessons, attend workshops and seminars, go hiking or safari, and a wide array of many other activities to let you immerse yourself in a wonderful new location and fully enjoy your trip overseas.

How to Apply:

Please write to us, list of your skills/interests and when you would like to come to Uganda and volunteer your experience. Our free volunteer abroad programs for retirees are pretty popular, so try to apply well in advance of when you’re traveling.

You must arrive around the scheduled dates of the month. We have a 1 week minimum and a 3-months maximum. If you want to stay longer, we’ll work it out if the space is available.

The Cost:

Volunteering in Uganda is free, as it should be, No Program Fees!  No weekly fees! At Ssamba Foundation, we appreciate and allow you to use your compassion to help make the world a better place at no cost to you!

All you have to do, is to book your placement with a one-time, donation of USD$200 (180€ or £150) only (per person)!

What does the fee cover?

The placement booking fee covers administration support while you prepare for Uganda. Accommodation and food is provided in exchange for your volunteering service.
