Ssamba Foundation is a Ugandan community-based development organization based in Mukono District, founded in 2006 by Rotarian Isaac Ssamba, Past President of the Rotary Club of Mukono Central (Rotary Year 2025–2026), with a commitment to creating lasting opportunities for vulnerable children, young people, women and families in rural communities.
For 20 years (since April 2006), Ssamba Foundation has worked alongside communities to address local challenges and create practical opportunities for people to improve their lives.
Our approach is rooted in the belief that sustainable development happens when communities have access to knowledge, skills, resources, technology and opportunities to build their own futures.
Our work focuses on building self-reliant, resilient and sustainable communities through education, skills development, agriculture, technology, entrepreneurship, food security and environmental stewardship.

A New Chapter for Ssamba Foundation
Ssamba Foundation is now entering a new chapter focused on the development of the Kyampisi Agri-Tech Legacy Hub, a long-term community development, agricultural innovation and learning platform designed to demonstrate how agriculture, technology, education and enterprise can work together to transform rural livelihoods.
The Hub represents our vision of moving beyond short-term interventions towards creating practical systems, knowledge and opportunities that communities can continue to use and build upon for generations.
Located in Luvule – Namanganga village, Kyampisi Subcounty, Mukono District, the Hub is being developed as a practical environment where children and young people can explore agriculture, STEM, technology, food systems, entrepreneurship, environmental stewardship and innovation.
Through the Hub and our wider community programs, Ssamba Foundation supports children, young people, women and families to gain practical knowledge, develop sustainable livelihoods, embrace innovation and create opportunities for the future.

We believe meaningful development is not simply about providing assistance. It is about helping people develop the knowledge, confidence, skills, resources and opportunities to create solutions of their own.

EDUCATE: We provide and support access to knowledge, skills, mentorship and learning opportunities that help children, young people and communities develop their potential.
EMPOWER: We support women, young people and families with entrepreneurship, vocational skills, agricultural knowledge and economic opportunities that can contribute to greater independence and household resilience.
SUSTAIN: We promote food security, climate-smart agriculture, environmental conservation, responsible water stewardship and sustainable approaches to community development.
Educate. Empower. Sustain. is not simply a slogan. It represents our belief that lasting change requires people to have the knowledge to make informed decisions, the opportunities and resources to act, and the ability to sustain the progress they create.
The Kyampisi Agri-Tech Legacy Hub
The Kyampisi Agri-Tech Legacy Hub is the Foundation’s flagship initiative for this new chapter. The Hub is being developed from an existing community facility in Luvule and will bring together: Agriculture and demonstration farming, STEM and practical technology, Food security and nutrition, Digital skills, Entrepreneurship and enterprise, Water conservation, Renewable energy, Environmental stewardship, Youth innovation and Community learning.
Its central idea is simple: From land we could lose to a legacy we can build. We want young people to discover that land can be more than something to inherit or sell. It can be an asset to understand, develop, protect and turn into opportunity.
Our Legacy
Ssamba Foundation began in 2006 with a simple belief: Ordinary people, when given opportunities and the right support, can create extraordinary change in their communities.
Two decades later, that belief continues to guide our work. Our goal is not simply to complete projects. It is to help create people, skills, knowledge, systems and community assets that continue creating value long after individual projects have ended.
The Kyampisi Agri-Tech Legacy Hub represents this long-term ambition. We are building for the future – one person, one family and one community at a time.
Our Founder
Isaac Ssamba founded Ssamba Foundation in 2006 and has spent 20 years working with communities in Uganda and connecting local development initiatives with volunteers, supporters and partners from Uganda and around the world.
As a community development practitioner, social entrepreneur and Rotarian and member of the Uganda Red Cross Society – Mukono Chapter, Isaac’s work has been shaped by a belief in practical action, opportunity creation and long-term community impact.
Today, his focus is increasingly on building institutions and community assets that can continue serving future generations.
Looking Ahead
The next chapter of Ssamba Foundation is not about doing more projects simply for the sake of doing more projects. It is about building something that lasts.
Through the Kyampisi Agri-Tech Legacy Hub, we are exploring what becomes possible when education, agriculture, technology, entrepreneurship and environmental stewardship are brought together in one community.
We are starting with what we have. We will demonstrate. We will learn. We will document. We will improve.
And where the model works, we hope it can inspire and support similar approaches elsewhere.
