About Ssamba Foundation
A Community-Led Approach to Sustainable Development
Ssamba Foundation is a community-based organization working in Mukono District, Uganda since 2006.
Our work focuses on one simple idea:
lasting change happens when communities lead their own development.

What We Do Today
Our activities are centered around the Kibiribiri Community Hub, where our core programs come together in one place.
Here, we focus on three connected areas:
-
Education – Supporting children at Kibiribiri Community School
-
Livelihoods – Working with women to build income and independence
-
Environment – Growing sustainable practices through gardens and tree planting
By bringing these together, we are building a Sustainable Village Model—where each part supports the other.

Our Approach
We believe in:
-
Strong local leadership
-
Practical, hands-on work
-
Long-term relationships
-
Learning through participation
All activities are led by our local team, with volunteers supporting—not replacing—community efforts.
Looking Ahead
As part of our growth, we are currently building the Namanganga Women’s Centre.
This space will expand our livelihoods work and provide women with greater access to skills, training, and income opportunities.

Working With Volunteers
Volunteers are part of our daily work at the Kibiribiri Community Hub.
They join a structured, community-led program—supporting education, women’s groups, and environmental activities alongside our local team.
Why It Matters
Our work is small, local, and consistent.
We focus on:
-
Supporting children in education
-
Strengthening families through women’s empowerment
-
Building sustainable systems within the community
Because real impact doesn’t come from doing everything—it comes from doing the right things, consistently.

Our Journey
Over the years, Ssamba Foundation has worked across different community initiatives.
Today, we are focused on a more integrated and sustainable approach—bringing our work together in one place to create deeper, long-term impact.
