Healthcare Program

Medical Electives Uganda

Here at Ssamba Foundation, we aim at reaching rural communities with Healthcare Program and strategies that will help them in Family planning and Child spacing, Malaria prevention, Dental services, plus HIV/AIDS prevention and awareness.

Through the healthcare program, we distribute Mosquito nets and provide home-based health care to our communities. We give support to children born with physical disabilities. When combined with clean water and sanitation, improvements in healthcare reduce the number of children dying from preventable diseases like malaria, cholera and diarrhoea.

Ssamba Foundation facilitates access to medical and dental assistance and provides information sessions on many health related topics like, HIV/AIDS, Sexually Transmitted Diseases(STDs), the human body, reproduction, hygiene, nutrition, etc.

In Uganda, Malaria kills most of the people and the most affected are the babies and their mothers. At Ssamba Foundation, we strive to reduce the number of deaths due to malaria by distributing mosquito nets and teaching the mothers on how to use them. They say Prevention is better than cure so we believe that it is cheaper to give out nets than it is to treat malaria.

We also organize workshops for adolescents and youth on how to prevent HIV/AIDS. We impart them with knowledge and information on the deadly virus by using Uganda’s ABC strategy.

Healthcare Program

Ssamba Foundation also encourages the communities to participate in the different government of Uganda initiatives like immunization and vaccinations. It presents to them the benefits and advantages of having their children immunized and vaccinated against the six killer childhood diseases like Polio, Tetanus, among others.

Healthcare Program

We also partnered with the Rotary Uganda to carry out an annual medical camp through to the Rotary Family Health Days. This one to two days medical camp carries out the much need medical care assistance to the most vulnerable members of the society.
