
Ssamba Foundation offers flexible medical electives in Uganda from 2 weeks minimum, all year round. Ssamba Foundation provides medical electives, nursing electives, midwifery electives, dental electives, physiotherapy electives and work experience placements in Uganda.
The medical electives in Uganda have been designed specifically to meet the needs of students training to be doctors, dentists, physiotherapists, nurses and midwives. We also organize volunteer placements for student medics, nurses, midwives, dentists and physiotherapists to gain experience working in Uganda.
The Uganda medical volunteer placements are available to students at any stage of their studies and to those who want to broaden their experience after graduation. Our healthcare electives provide high quality placements designed to specifically meet your needs.
We enjoy strong relationships with a large number of hospitals, clinics, nursing homes in Uganda due our 18 years of services. These relationships give us the freedom to organize placements quickly and efficiently.
Our flexible medical electives Uganda placements offer medical school students the opportunity to experience healthcare and medical practice abroad, and to develop their own medical skills.
Ssamba Foundation’s Uganda volunteer program will give you vital cross cultural experience. You will travel with other students, get involved in community work and have lots of fun.
We offer medical student electives in both government and private hospitals. The hospitals have a wide range of medical, dentistry, midwifery and surgical specialties. Students shadow doctors/nurses and play hands-on roles in a wide variety of specialties.
You will have a hands-on experience and help in many areas. You will see a huge range of medical conditions. You will get a well-rounded experience, good supervision, integration into the local community and staff back-up.
You will be able to make a real difference to people’s lives in a setting where the work is challenging but rewarding. Most electives last between two-eight weeks and can be done at any time of the year.

Uganda Nursing and Medical Trips
Ssamba Foundation partners with nurses, physicians, allied health care professionals (e.g. physical and occupational therapists), audiologists, psychologists and students in these disciplines from a variety of practice settings, hospitals, universities and professional organizations.
They deliver much needed care through medical clinics, home visits, and educational programs. Our nursing and healthcare teams work with local volunteer physicians and specialists to provide assistance, facilitate referrals and provide follow-up as needed.
Ssamba Foundation encourages nursing and medical teams to serve through their strengths and specialties in order to best meet the needs of local communities. A typical medical/nursing mission trip includes medical and community outreach, relationship-building and working hand in hand with men, women and children in local communities.
