Agriculture

Ssamba Foundation promotes sustainable agriculture, household food security and improved nutrition through practical learning, agricultural innovation and community-based initiatives.

We believe agriculture is more than food production. It is a pathway to better nutrition, stronger livelihoods, economic empowerment and sustainable community development.

Our program seeks to equip children, young people, women and families with practical agricultural knowledge, skills and opportunities to contribute to food production, environmental conservation and household resilience.

From children’s agricultural education and demonstration gardens to household food production and women’s agricultural empowerment, we connect agriculture with learning, innovation and everyday community needs.

OUR FLAGSHIP PROJECT

Kyampisi Agri-Tech Legacy Initiative

The Kyampisi Agri-Tech Legacy Initiative is the flagship project of the Ssamba Foundation Centre’s Agriculture Program. The initiative is designed to introduce children and young people to agriculture, food production, nutrition, science and technology through practical, hands-on learning experiences.

We envision a dynamic learning environment where children can discover how food is produced, understand the importance of nutrition, develop practical gardening skills and explore how science and technology can improve agriculture.

The initiative will connect agricultural education with household food security, environmental awareness, innovation and sustainable community development. Our ambition is to nurture a generation that sees agriculture not simply as traditional farming, but as a field of knowledge, innovation, entrepreneurship and opportunity.

OUR CORE PROJECT ACTIVITIES

Agri-Tech Kids — Ages 3–12:  Agri-Tech Kids will introduce children to the fascinating world of agriculture through fun, practical and age-appropriate learning activities. Children will explore: Seeds, plants, soil and how food grows.

Gardening, Food Security and Nutrition: We believe that practical food production knowledge can help families improve access to nutritious foods, diversify household diets and strengthen their resilience.

BE PART OF THE GROWING VISION

The Kyampisi Agri-Tech Legacy Initiative presents an opportunity for individuals, schools, agricultural organizations, universities, volunteers, development partners and donors to contribute to a new approach to agricultural learning and community food security.

Together, we can grow more than food. We can grow knowledge, skills, innovation and opportunities for generations to come.
