The Christmas Volunteer Safari Uganda is a special seasonal experience organized around December and January by Ssamba Foundation. It invites international visitors, students, families, groups and independent travelers to celebrate the festive season in Uganda while participating in meaningful community activities.
And the best part? You do not have to be a professional volunteer to take part.
Celebrate the Festive Season with a Purpose
Based at Ssamba Foundation Centre in Kyampisi, Mukono District, participants join the Foundation’s integrated Community Volunteer Program. Activities depend on ongoing projects, community priorities, individual interests and suitability.
You may get involved in agriculture, children’s educational activities, women’s empowerment, public health awareness, construction support, environmental activities and community events.
The festive season also offers opportunities for cultural exchange. Experience Ugandan food, traditions, music, everyday community life and the warmth of local hospitality. Share stories, make friendships and discover a different way of celebrating Christmas and welcoming the New Year.
Add a Safari to Your Christmas Adventure
Your Ugandan experience can extend beyond volunteering. Ssamba Foundation can help organize optional tours and safari experiences to destinations such as Murchison Falls, Queen Elizabeth National Park, Lake Mburo, Jinja and other attractions.
Whether you prefer a one-day excursion, a weekend adventure or a multi-day wildlife safari, arrangements can be discussed according to your schedule and budget. Safari costs are separate from the volunteer program fee.
When Can You Participate?
December and January are the featured months for this special program, making it an excellent opportunity to spend the festive season in Uganda. However, volunteers are welcome throughout the year. You can arrange your visit outside these months according to your availability.
